Many thanks to the men and women who make it possible for us to celebrate this holiday year after year, and to the families of service members who spend so much time without their loved ones while they defend our country. May they all be home soon! I truly appreciate you, and I understand the sacrifices you make.

We began our 4th celebration Wednesday night with fireworks at the stadium (we can watch them from our porch). It continued Thursday with great company and a delicious dinner. Linus loved it so much she ate with a fork and a spoon at the same time! And she ate the cooked carrots which is pretty amazing. We planned to watch the fireworks at the stadium again that night, but the game ended earlier than planned. We watched them from our car as we were on our way home from running errands. Today we have a packed day, and it will end with a fabulous fireworks display set off at the top of the mountain. It's a HUGE event, and Linus loves it and looks forward to it for months. We'll also continue our tradition of paying for service members meals (for any we spot) today as a small thank you for what they do. I'm sure there will be some pool time thrown in there too.
Any big plans on your end?

Plans? My Birthday party (one of them), and the whole country will be celebrating it with fireworks! Oh, wait, they're not really for me are they. Must keep remembering that (but not really).
Have a wonderful 4th July, and heck, have a wonderful 5th too!
We had plans but so far it hasn't quit raining all day. I think our plans may include a nap and some burgers on the grill if the rain slacks off afterwhile.
I bet watching Linus watch fireworks is better than watching fireworks.
Have a great day!
I celebrated by doing NOTHING! Which was kinda fabulous, actually. No work, no house work, no driving, nada, zero, zip.
Instead, I read some, played with the dog, chatted with friends on the phone and via text, and took a nap.
I'll do stuff tomorrow, LOL.
