An Extra Nice Guy

Last night while at dinner, we met a well known baseball player.  He is known for a somewhat callous demeanor on the field, but he could not have been more pleasant off.  He was faced with multiple people asking for autographs, which he happily obliged; one guy even jumped out of a car to ask for one.  Since we knew he was eager to get back to his family, we politely stayed back and didn't ask for an autograph.

Linus took note of all the autograph seekers:

"Mommy, why are people bothering that man?"

Well, Linus, he's a bit of a celebrity, so I think they are a little star struck.

"But, Mama, he's just a guy."

To you he is, but to many people he's a celebrity.

"It's just so rude, Mama. Even if he is a celebrity, people should not clobber him like that."

Well, Linus, they are interested in him.  He's a famous baseball player.

"I still don't get it, Mama.  Even if he is a celebrity, people shouldn't forget their manners. By the way, what's a celebrity?"

And with her last comment, I think he may have been bitten by the Linus bug. :)  He turned towards us and winked.
