Facebook

I've been thinking about this post for a few days now, so I think it's funny that I've seen quite a few blogs lately with similar posts. Must be the time.

Eons ago my SIL sent me an invite, and I just wasn't interested. Let's face it, Linus is a handful, and I didn't want something to distract me and keep me up later at night that I already am (I'm a serious night owl). Little by little, more and more friends joined. When the mother of a friend joined, I decided I absolutely didn't want to join. I love this mother to death. She's a really fun mother, but she's still a mother, you know? And hush, yes I do know I'm technically a mother, but I'm not old! Or at least I'm not as old as she is. A group of friends joined about six months ago, maybe more, and I went back and forth with the idea of joining, but I didn't. Now they're all sharing their pics that way, and I can't see them. Wah. So, I'm entertaining the thought of joining again. I'd love your thoughts.

A. Do you Facebook?
B. What's your favorite thing about Facebook?
C. Should I join or not?

Ha! You stole my blog title! I say join but don't guilt over who to accept or not accept as a friend on there. Accept those you want, ignore those you don't & don't worry about ignoring them. Make sure you use the privacy settings & be careful about the external applications because some of them can result in viruses. Other than those little tips, I find it fun and pretty useful for keeping in touch with people. It doesn't suck up too much of my time because I don't get involved in all the games & stuff on there.

Facebook is nice, and you can customize it to be as private as you want. Only friends can see your photos, or friends of friends, or everyone, or only people you send the link to. ANd you can CHOOSE who wants to be your friend, by accepting and declining friend invites. I think it's genius....

And I'm on there, so you should join ;)

Leia & Doreen YOU (our almost whole group) are the ones I'm talking about! I feel like I'm missing out!

And, of course, Monk, I'd love to see your photos! I think your trip would be one of the most amazing ones ever!

Glad you included me. I was beginning to feel left out. :)

There's a photo of my boy, blacks, collar and all. Almost looks like a priest already.

I like Facebook. It's quick and easy, with little to no obligation. You can pass the time away or spend thirty seconds (or none). It drives me crazy that one of my bff's refuses to join, she doesn't want to have to "speak" to anyone from her past that might contact her. I told her there is NO obligation.

I love Facebook. I've found people I haven't seen in years and it's a much simpler way of keeping up with friends family too. And they have distracting games that lead me to shirk my dish washing duties...

I love facebook, too. I love that it's private and you choose who joins. I love keeping up with so many people. I haven't tried any games yet and probably won't so I won't get hooked!

And I miss all the workout gals and keeping up with life! (But I just can't handle trying to keep up with one more message board!!)

I facebook, but I have had it since it was created (back when I was in college).

I like it because my college/high school friends live all over the country. It's easier to see what other people are doing without searching their individual pages because of the "friend feed" which I initially loathed, but now mega-love.

Just my opinion though.

I don't like kids (under college age) on it. It was never intended for that and it bugs the crap out of me when my students try to "friend" me.

I am on Facebook, but I don't really like it. Maybe because I don't totally get it; I don't really see what the purpose is, but from what you say I guess it's to share pictures? No wonder I'm not crazy about it; I haven't posted any pictures. BWAHA!

I guess I'm just a blogger through and through; I really like blogging. Maybe I'm too old for Facebook?

I have a myspace I check about once a month. I got it because my kids friends were wanting me to look at their pictures. I would like to have a facebook account but I don't want my kids to feel like I am stalking them or trying to watch every move they make. They are 18 and 20 years old, too old for me to watch everything they do anymore. If you decide to get one I may too, I'll use you as an excuse.

I enjoy Facebook...keeping up with people, posting photos, etc.

I gave you a blog award..you'll have to stop by to check it out!

I'm on Facebook, too. Its okay- enjoy reading the status updates everyday...kinda neat to take a peak into other people's lives for a minute! I ignore A LOT of friend requests though because they are random people from highschool or old jobs that I really don't about reconnecting with...or allowing them to see MY kids pictures or private info....I basically do it to keep up with the March mommas!!

I'm on facebook. God I can't believe I'm admitting this - but I'm on myspace, too. I joined myspace simply because the hubby (who was a boyfriend at the time) was on there and his profile was private. The only way I could see his site was by being his "friend." I haven't checked myspace in forever. But I have found a ton of high school and college friends on facebook (as well as a few bloggers!). I haven't really gotten into it. I check it about once a week or so. It is a great way to see pictures, though!
