Extra Worried

We had Meet the Teacher day.  I'm a little concerned about this year.  I believe it will be a good year, and I know Linus will make the most of it, but I do have one fear.  I'm worried it will be a l-o-n-g year.  It's pretty easy to sum up why I'm a *tiny* bit worried:  I think most would agree that Linus thinks outside the box.  Her teacher doesn't. At. All.

Of course you're worried. Your baby is going off to Kindergarten!

Ten to one says she'll do just fine. Her teacher will come around to Linus's way of thinking and Linus will benefit from her teacher in some ways as well.

Give it a week or two and see how it goes. Some of the teachers I have been most concerned about have helped my children grow the most.

Hugs,

I think Linus can handle just about anything--and anyone! She'll probably have her teacher untying the bow and opening that "box" the first day of school. Can you tell I think she's great? :)

I am agreeing with jackietex. Well, and leeann, too!

I have a feeling Linus is just the girl who can bring that teacher around a little :). I mean, look at her...who can resist the kid? And even though she is definitely an out-of-the-box thinker, her way also has a certain logic to it. She can teach the teacher, so to speak.

And if that teacher EVER says, does, or even thinks of trying to do anything mean to Linus or tries to change her into a Stepford Kid, I will hunt that teacher down. And it will not be pleasant. :)

I had my DD switched to a different teacher one year because the teacher she got yelled at the kids all the time. DD had spent some time with me at school the year before volunteering and was terrified of this woman. It was a little unpleasant but worth it.

From what I can tell...Linus won't have any trouble at all.
Good luck Mom, one of the hardest days of my life was putting that baby boy of mine on the school bus for the first time ;)

Somehow I get the feeling that Linus is going to be handling this all just fine, and may even open some eyes in the process. And lucky you, getting to expereince that process.

Here's hoping it's a great year!

As a former teacher of all grades K-5 (several years in K) if your gut tells you something isn't right I would talk to the teacher before school starts. Just the things I read about LLIINNUUSS makes me laugh and like I have said before I would get a kick out of her. But if someone is not going to appreciate her wit and charm no use on putting LLIINNUUSS through the disappointment of a teacher that doesn't get her. I would talk to the principal before school starts from one professional to the next so that it is on the record in the event that her class needs to be changed. I would try to help out as much as you can IN THE CLASSROOM (if you want) and see/observe for yourself. And if something doesn't feel right then take care of it ASAP. If she is as charming as your entries are she would have won me over at the "meet and greet!" Actually, she has already won me over and I have never met her. Your a teacher so this is not meant to scare you. I just know from my experience if it doesn't feel right, it often isn't. If I had your email address I would email you personally, but for now I would prefer to stay anonymous.

Good luck LLIINNUUSS.
